This month, our team had the pleasure of participating in the 4th Annual FirstService Residential Preferred Vendor Trade Show. This was a great opportunity to connect with strata council members from across the Lower Mainland and further strengthen our relationships with property managers.
Our CEO, Sebastien Nault, was also honoured to take part in the Preventative Maintenance panel hosted by Nagry Ngauv, alongside industry partners from Haakon Mechanical and Remdal. The discussion focused on how proactive maintenance — from exterior cleaning and drainage to waterproofing systems — plays a critical role in protecting building assets and avoiding costly, unplanned repairs.

During the panel, Sebastien highlighted three key areas of exterior preventative maintenance:
➡️ Envelope cleaning to remove organic buildup and reduce moisture-related deterioration.
➡️ Dryer vent cleaning to minimize fire risk and protect insurance compliance.
➡️ Window cleaning to prevent permanent staining and provide regular eyes on the building envelope for early issue detection.
A key takeaway was the value of the feedback loop between on-site maintenance teams and property managers/strata councils. The people working on the exterior often see early warning signs first, and when that information is shared promptly, it allows for smarter planning, better budgeting, and fewer surprises.
Preventative maintenance isn’t about doing more, it’s about acting earlier.
