The holidays are a wonderful time to reconnect with what’s important, not only
because it’s the tradition but we get an extra day off to do so!
In the tradition of Thanksgiving, we’d like to take some time to be thankful.
This year we’d like to share some of the things we at Black Tie office feel grateful for:
- Wonderful, trusting and kind customers (new and old)
- Hard working and dedicated team we can count on
- Another year without accidents (knock on wood…)
- Continued growth in business
- You! … for reading this blog
This year, what are YOU grateful for?
If the holidays get you down, or you are feeling depressed, a very effective way to get out of the dumps is to open your heart and give. This may seem like the last thing you want to do but trust me it does works. Often helping others who are less fortunate or are in need, will help us to realize that we don’t have it that bad. Especially knowing we all go through our ups and downs.
There are many ways you can do this: reaching out to a friend, doing something nice for someone who doesn’t expect it, giving something to someone who needs it… If you are looking for a more structured approach there are food drives to which you can donate cash, food, and/or volunteer your time. And with today’s technology, you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home to donate – To make a donation online to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, click here. You can also make a donation by phone at 778-945-0030 or toll-free at 1-(855)-215-6933.
“Did you know that The Greater Vancouver Food Bank helps 28,000 people a week through it’s food depots? 26% of those are children and 18 percent are seniors. There’s been a 5 percent increase in the number of people accessing the food bank over the past year.” http://globalnews.ca/news/878159/global-bc-thanksgiving-food-bank-drive-takes-place-october-10/
